# Create your revis.io account

Create an account on the Revis sign-in page with your email address and a password. revis.io emails you a 6-digit code to confirm the address. Then you name your organization and start on its **Projects** page. If someone invited you to their organization, start from the invitation email instead.

* **Who:** anyone with an email address.
* **Where:** the web app, in a browser. The desktop app has its own sign-up, which finishes in the browser.
* **You need:** access to your email inbox while you sign up.

## Sign up

1. On the Revis sign-in page, select **or sign up** at the bottom.
2. Enter your **Email**.
3. Enter a **Password**, then the same password in **Confirm Password**.
4. Select **Create Account**. **Verify your email** opens.

Your password must be at least 8 characters long, not a commonly used password, not numbers only, and not too similar to your email address. The strength meter under **Password** is only a guide; revis.io checks these rules when you select **Create Account**.

To sign up with your Google account instead, use the Google button above **or continue with email**. revis.io doesn't send a code for Google sign-ups, and you go straight to naming your organization.

## Enter the code from your email

1. Open the email from revis.io titled "Confirm your email address".
2. Type the 6-digit code into the box on **Verify your email**. revis.io checks it as soon as you enter the sixth digit.

::: warning Keep the page open
Leave **Verify your email** open until you've entered the code, and don't reload it. After a reload, **Resend code** stops working.

* A code works for 15 minutes, and you can try it three times.
* No email? Check your spam folder, then select **Resend code**. You can resend once a minute.
* Each address gets at most three codes in 15 minutes and 10 a day, counting sign-up, sign-in, and resends. Past a limit, **Resend code** sends nothing, even though the page still says **A new code has been sent.** Use the newest code you received, or wait 15 minutes and resend. At the daily limit, try again the next day.
* If a code has expired or you've used up its tries, select **Wrong email? Go back**, then [sign in](/getting-started/sign-in) with your email and password. revis.io emails you a new code.
* If the address under **Verify your email** is wrong, select **Wrong email? Go back** and sign up again with the right address.
* If the address already has a Revis account, no code arrives. revis.io emails you that the account exists instead, so go back and sign in.

## Name your organization

1. On **Name your organization**, enter an **Organization name**, for example your studio's name.
2. Select **Continue**. Your organization opens on **Projects**, ready for your first project.

You're the Owner of your organization.

## Join an organization from an invitation

1. Open the invitation email and select its link. **Team Invitation** shows who invited you and to which organization.
2. If the invited address has no Revis account yet, select **Create Account**. **Email** is already filled in. Enter a password, then enter the code from your email.
3. If the address already has an account, select **Sign In to Accept** and sign in. revis.io accepts the invitation for you.

You join the organization as a Member. If the invitation was for a project, you also get the project role the inviter chose. You skip naming an organization. Invitations expire after 7 days.

| This invitation was sent to a different email address | Sign out, then sign in or sign up with the invited address. |
| Invitation is already accepted | You've already joined. Open revis.io as usual. |
| Invalid invitation token | Open the link from the email again, or ask for a new invitation. |

## Stop invitation emails

Every invitation email ends with **Stop all invitations to this address**. Select it, then select **Stop invitation emails**. revis.io stops all invitation emails to your address, and nobody can invite it anymore. You can't turn them back on from revis.io.
