# Comment, draw and set status as a guest

When someone shares a Revis review with you, you can play every item in it and read all its comments without a Revis account. Whether you can also comment, draw, change statuses, or download depends on how the sender set up the link.

::: info Before you start

* **Who:** anyone with a share link. You don't need a Revis account to watch. Some links require one to comment or take part. If you're a member of the review's project, the link opens the review with your normal access instead.
* **Where:** a web browser.
* **You need:** the link, and the password if the sender set one. If the sender changes the password, you're asked for the new one.
  :::

## What you can see

* Every item in the review, its sections and the status of each item.
* All comments and drawings in the review, from everyone.
* Nothing outside this review: not the project's other reviews, files, or tasks.

To compare two versions of an item, open its three-dot menu in the playlist and choose **Compare versions**. You can compare the versions that are in this review.

## Comment and draw

If the link requires a Revis account, open **Notes** and select **Sign in to revis.io to comment.** Sign in, then return to the review. You can use only the permissions the sender allowed.

If the link allows comments, the **Notes** panel on the right has a box that shows **Add a comment...**.

1. Open an item and go to the frame you want to comment on.
2. Open **Notes** on the right if it's closed, select **Add a comment...**, type your comment, and press **Enter**. Press **Shift+Enter** for a new line.
3. To draw on the frame, pause and use the drawing toolbar over the player.
4. To reply to someone, point to their comment and select **Reply**.

You can react to an unresolved comment with an emoji. To share a comment, open its menu (three dots) and select **Copy Link**. Send the share link alongside the comment link. Ask the recipient to open the share link first, then the comment link, and open **Notes** if the panel is closed.

## Edit or delete your comments

If you're signed in to revis.io or confirmed your email for this link, open your comment's menu and choose **Edit Note** or **Delete Note**. **Delete Note** works only while nobody else has replied, and it deletes the comment at once, without asking.

If you commented without signing in or confirming your email, you can't edit or delete those comments. Ask the person who shared the link if something needs to change.

## Confirm your email when asked

Some links ask you to confirm your email before you take part, or before you can see the review at all. The **Confirm your email** box tells you why.

1. Enter your name and email address, then select **Send code**.
2. Enter the 6-digit code from the email. The code works for 15 minutes, and you have three tries.
3. If no email arrives, select **Resend code** after the countdown ends, or **Wrong email? Go back** to fix the address.

Your browser remembers you for 90 days: next time, select **Continue as** with your name. Use the same email each time, so revis.io knows which comments are yours.

## Change statuses and the playlist

* **Status:** if the link allows it, select **Item actions** (the menu next to the item name at the top) and choose a status. You can't change the status of the review itself.
* **Playlist:** if the link allows editing, you can drag items in the playlist to reorder them, and select a version in an item's version list to make it the current one for everyone. Otherwise the playlist and its versions are read-only.

## Download

Downloads appear only if the sender allowed them, and only the kinds the review's organization allows. Look for **Download Original**, **Download PDF**, or **Download with Comments** under **Item actions**, and for **Download** in the three-dot menu of a comment attachment. If you see none of these, the link doesn't allow downloads; ask the sender.

## Chat and talk

Select **Chat** (the speech bubbles at the top right) to message everyone watching the review. If it says "Sign in to revis.io to chat.", use the sign-in link in **Notes** first. To talk, select **Join call** at the top of the chat. On some links **Join call** is grayed out, because the link doesn't allow calls.

## When a link stops working

If the sender turns the link off or deletes it while you're watching, revis.io takes you to the sign-in page, which says "This review is no longer shared with you. Ask the person who shared it for a new link, or sign in if you have an account."

## What guests can't do

* Upload media or new versions.
* Rename, remove or replace items, or set an item's thumbnail.
* Edit or delete other people's comments.
* Change the review's own status.
