Find organization and project settings

Updated Oct 12, 2026

Find organization and project settings

Organization settings apply to your whole organization: members, security, sharing rules, statuses, and integrations. Open them from the gear in your organization's menu at the top of the sidebar. Project settings apply to one project: its members, visibility, and player defaults. Open them from the gear next to the project's name. Both are in the web app; the desktop app doesn't have them.

Before you start

  • Who: anyone in the organization can open Organization settings; people added only to a project don't get the gear. Project settings has a gear for anyone who can edit the project: Owners, Admins, Members, Project Admins, and Contributors.
  • Changing settings: most organization pages need the Manage settings permission, which Owners and Admins have. In a project, Link Sharing, Downloads, and the visibility need Manage settings (Owners, Admins, and the project's Project Admins), Members needs the right to manage members, and most other project pages only need edit access. See Understand organization and project roles.
  • Where: the web app.

Open organization settings

  1. Select your organization's icon at the top of the sidebar.
  2. Select the gear next to your organization's name (Organization settings). General opens.
  3. Choose a page in the settings sidebar.

Open project settings

  1. Open the project.
  2. Select the gear next to the project's name at the top of the page (Project settings). On the Projects page, you can also point to a project's card and select its gear, or choose Edit Settings from More options.
  3. Choose a page: General (name, description, visibility, archive, and delete), Members, Player, Link Sharing, Downloads, Statuses, Review statuses, Tags, or Folder Types.

Reviewers and Viewers see the project's name without the gear or the project menu.

Save your changes

  • Pages with a form, such as General, Security, and Link Sharing: change what you need, then select Save Changes at the bottom. It saves the changes on every form page you've edited, and revis.io shows "Settings saved". Reset undoes changes you haven't saved. If you close settings with unsaved changes, revis.io asks before discarding them.
  • Pages that list things, such as Members, Teams, Statuses, and Tags: each change applies as soon as you confirm it. The footer says "Changes on this page save automatically", and Save Changes stays unavailable there.

If you can open a page but not change it, it shows a lock and "You can view these settings, but changing them requires the Manage settings permission", and you can't use its controls. Some pages, such as Members and Webhooks, don't show this note; they refuse the change with an error message instead.
