Press C to comment on the frame you're looking at, or select a range on the timeline to comment on several frames. The comment keeps its frame, so anyone who reads it can jump to that moment. The interface also calls comments "notes", as in the Notes panel.

You need: a video or audio item open in the player. A still image has no frame, so a comment on it applies to the whole image.
Press C. The comment box opens, with the frame number in a banner above it.
Type your comment in the box that says Add a comment... Press Shift+Enter for a new line.
To mention someone, type @ and the start of a name, then choose the person or team from the list.
To tag the comment, type # and choose a tag from the list.
Press Enter, or select Comment.
People can appear by email address in mention suggestions. If a name doesn't appear, search by that person's email address.
The comment appears in the Notes panel. You can also open the comment box with Notes on the right edge, or Add comment (C) when the panel is closed. To comment on the whole item, select the trash icon (Remove frame range) on the banner. It then reads Clip Comment; select Frame Comment to bring the frame back.
@ lists people in your project and organization, and the teams on the project. Whether a mention also sends an email depends on how your revis.io is set up, so don't rely on it for urgent feedback. # lists your project's tags: Animation, Compositing, Lighting, FX, Layout, Modeling, Rigging, and Texturing, unless your organization or project replaced them.
Turn on Select range, in the controls under the timeline.
Drag across the timeline from the first frame to the last. The range appears in the banner above the comment box, and a menu opens.

Here's how to pin a comment to the exact frame that needs it, or to a whole range. Pause on the frame you want to comment on. Press C.
The comment box opens, with the frame number in a banner above it. The rim light on this forest shot is running hot, so let's flag it. Type your comment in the box that says Add a comment...
For a new line, press ⇧Enter. To mention someone, type @ and the start of a name. Then choose the person or team from the list.

Some notes cover a whole camera move, not just one frame. Turn on Select range, in the controls under the timeline. Drag across the timeline from the first frame to the last.
The range shows in the banner above the comment box, and a menu opens. Choose Create Range Comment. Type your comment and press Enter.
Now every note sits on the exact frames it's about, so nobody guesses which moment you meant.
Point to the comment and select More, the three dots.
Choose Copy Link.
Paste the link where you want to share it.
WARNING
The link opens the item at the comment's frame, but the Notes panel can stay closed. Tell people to open Notes.
revis.io shows no message when you copy, so paste the link to check it.
Someone outside the project gets the sign-in page unless they already opened the review's share link in that browser. On a share link with a password or email check, the link opens the review but not the comment.
revis.io shows Couldn't save your comment. If the comment box is empty, your text goes back into it. Otherwise the comment stays in the list marked Not saved: select Retry to send it again, or Discard to remove it. Reloading the page loses an unsaved comment.
