Supported file formats and upload limits
revis.io accepts video, image, audio, PDF, and 3D model files up to 10 GB each. It converts uploads on its servers so they play in a browser, and keeps your original file exactly as you uploaded it.
Before you start
- Who: the organization's Owners, Admins, and Members, and the project's Project Admins and Contributors.
- Where: the web app, and the desktop app when it uploads to a cloud review.
- You need: media uploads turned on for your organization.

| 3D model | GLB, glTF | .glb, .gltf | A glTF file must be self-contained: one file, with no separate textures or .bin file. |
Where downloads are allowed, people get your original file back. Files you attach to comments follow a separate, shorter list of types and sizes.
Limits
| Limit | Value |
|---|---|
| File size | 10 GB per file, for new uploads and new versions, in the web app and the desktop app |
| Video and audio length | 24 hours |
| Video size | Up to 16,384 pixels wide or tall |
| Streaming resolution | 1080p. Larger videos still upload; they stream at 1080p and keep their full-resolution original. |
| Image size | About 67 megapixels in total, the same as 8192 × 8192 pixels, and at most 65,535 pixels on a side |
| PDF length | revis.io shows the first 500 pages of a longer PDF. |
Files revis.io refuses
revis.io checks each file before it uploads and refuses formats it doesn't support, for example EXR, DPX, MXF, FBX, OBJ, and USDZ. When you pick or drop a refused file, a warning appears at the top right of the window. It names the file, lists the supported formats, and closes after about 8 seconds. revis.io doesn't upload that file; the other files in the same upload still go ahead.
| What you see | Why | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Unsupported file format (Unsupported file formats for several), naming up to three files and their formats | revis.io doesn't support the format. | Convert the file to a supported format, then upload it again. |
| File too large (Files too large for several), naming up to three files, their sizes, and the 10 GB limit | The file is over 10 GB. | Export a smaller file, for example with more compression, or split it. |
In the desktop app, Publish to Cloud marks a refused item as failed with the same message and publishes the rest of the review.
Files that upload but can't be processed
If a file uploads but revis.io can't process it, its tile shows the reason instead of a preview. For example, a video or audio file longer than 24 hours shows "This file's media information looks invalid or corrupted, so it couldn't be processed. Try re-exporting the file.", and an image over the size limit shows "This image is too large to process. Try a smaller resolution." See An upload stopped, vanished, or failed.
