Sign in to revis.io
Sign in on the Revis sign-in page with your email address and password, with Google, or with your organization's single sign-on (SSO).
Before you start
- Who: anyone with a Revis account. No account yet? See Create your revis.io account.
- Where: the web app, in a browser. The desktop app has its own sign-in screen.
- You need: your email address and password, your Google account, or your organization's SSO ID.
Sign in with your email and password
- Enter your Email and Password.
- Select Sign In.
To use your Google account instead, select the Google button at the top of the page.
Forgot your password? Select Forgot password? next to the Password label, then follow Reset or change your password. The sign-in page that a review link opens has no Forgot password?: go to the main Revis sign-in page instead.
Sign in with SSO
SSO lets you sign in with your organization's identity provider, the service that manages your company logins.
- Select Sign in with SSO, below Sign In.
- Enter your organization's SSO ID, for example
acme, then select Continue. Your admin can tell you the ID; some admin pages call it the subdomain. - Sign in with your identity provider. You return to revis.io, signed in.
The SSO ID uses letters, numbers, and hyphens only. If you enter your email address instead, revis.io says "Enter your organization's SSO ID, not your email address." If it says "Single sign-on isn't set up for" the ID you entered, check the ID with your admin.
If SSO fails, revis.io shows Sign in failed:
- "Single sign-on didn't complete." usually means you started from your identity provider's list of apps, which isn't supported. Select Back to Login, then Sign in with SSO.
- "Your identity provider signed you in, but this account can't use single sign-on for that organization." means your account isn't a member of that organization. Ask your admin to add you.
If your organization requires SSO
An admin can require everyone in an organization, admins included, to sign in with SSO. Then a password or Google sign-in doesn't open that organization.
- SSO Required opens when you open such an organization after signing in another way. Select Log in with SSO to sign in through your identity provider; you come back to the same page. You can also select Sign out, or, if you belong to another organization, Stay in followed by its name.
- Before the requirement starts, a banner at the top of revis.io says "SSO authentication will be required by" and a date. Select Log in with SSO now to switch early. If you belong to several organizations, the banner shows the earliest date, so open the organization that requires SSO first.
- In the organization switcher (the square with your organization's initial), these organizations are listed under Organizations Requiring SSO. Select Sign in with SSO next to one to sign in to it.
If SSO itself stops working, an admin can fix it; see Set up SAML single sign-on.
If you can't sign in
- "The email address and/or password you specified are not correct." means the email or password is wrong. Check both, or reset your password.
- If you haven't confirmed your email address yet, signing in opens Verify your email and emails you a new 6-digit code. Enter it to finish signing in. For resending and expiry, see Enter the code from your email.
- "Too many sign-in attempts. Wait a few minutes, then try again." appears after several wrong passwords in a row, or a fourth sign-in within 15 minutes to an address you haven't confirmed. Wait, then sign in again.
- "Too many verification codes for this email address today. Try again tomorrow." means the address has had 10 codes today. Use the newest code you received, or try again tomorrow.
Where revis.io opens after you sign in
After you sign in with your email and password, revis.io first opens an invitation you followed or the page you were trying to open, such as a review link. Otherwise, it returns to the last organization or project page you visited with this account in this browser. Opening the app's home address does the same.
If you no longer have access to that project, revis.io opens its organization's Projects page. If no place is remembered, or you no longer have access to that organization, it opens Projects in the first organization you belong to, alphabetically. Organizations where you only have project access come after those where you're a member.
After a Google or SSO sign-in, revis.io can skip the review link or invitation you started from: open the link again.
