Track an upload and its processing

Updated Oct 11, 2026

Track an upload and its processing

Every upload shows in the Uploads panel at the bottom right of the page, where you can pause or cancel it. When a file has uploaded, revis.io processes it for playback, and its tile shows Processing... until it's ready.

Before you start

  • Who: anyone who uploads files: the organization's Owners, Admins, and Members, and the project's Project Admins and Contributors.
  • Where: the web app.
  • You need: an upload in progress, from adding media or a new version.

Follow your uploads

The Uploads panel opens when an upload starts. Its header shows how many files are done out of the total, for example Uploads (2/5). Select the header to collapse or expand the panel.

A file showsMeaning
Waiting...It's queued behind other files.
Its progress, for example 120 MB / 800 MBIt's uploading.
PausedYou paused it.
CompleteIt has uploaded. revis.io now processes it.
  • To pause or resume a file, select Pause or Resume next to it.
  • To stop a file, select Cancel. revis.io removes the file's tile, or, for a new version, keeps the current version.
  • To tidy the list, select Clear completed.

If a file fails to upload, revis.io shows Upload failed: with the file's name and takes the file off the list. Upload it again; An upload stopped, vanished, or failed explains the common causes.

Keep the tab open

Uploads run in this browser tab. While a file is waiting, paused, or uploading, closing or reloading the tab asks you to confirm. If you leave anyway, the upload stops and can't resume: upload the file again.

Read the processing state

After the upload, each item's tile shows where processing stands:

The tile showsMeaning
Processing...revis.io is preparing the file for playback. There's no percentage.
The item's previewIt's ready.
A small warning sign at the topIt plays, but some previews couldn't be made. Point to the sign to read why.
A red overlay with a warning signProcessing failed. Point to the overlay to read why, for example "This image is too large to process. Try a smaller resolution."

There's no retry for a failed file. Fix it if the reason says how, then upload it again.
