Find a project or switch organization

Updated Oct 12, 2026

Find a project or switch organization

Every project you can open is on your organization's Projects page. The organization menu at the top of the sidebar takes you there, switches organization, or opens a project directly. Projects you can ask to join are listed under Browse Projects.

Before you start

  • Who: anyone in an organization. People added to a project but not to its organization see only their projects there, without Browse Projects.
  • Where: the web app and the desktop app.

Switch organization or open a project

  1. Select your organization's icon at the top of the sidebar.
  2. Under Current Organization, select a project to open its reviews, or select your organization's name to open its Projects page.
  3. To switch, select another organization under Other Organizations. Its Projects page opens. To open one of its projects instead, point to the organization (or press the Right Arrow key) and select the project in the list beside it.

Organizations where you're a member appear before organizations where you only have project access. Each group is alphabetical.

The menu shows up to 50 projects per organization, archived ones included. The Projects page shows them all.

In the web app, signing in or opening the app's home address returns to the last organization or project page you visited with that account in this browser, unless you followed a specific link. If you no longer have access to the project, its organization's Projects page opens. If the organization is unavailable or nothing is remembered, revis.io opens the first organization in the order above.

Find a project on the Projects page

Use the toolbar above your projects, then select a project's card to open its reviews.

ControlOptions
Search projects...Matches the names and descriptions of your projects
FilterAll Projects, Active Projects (default), or Archived Projects
GroupingNo Grouping (default) or Time Period (when the project was created)
SortLatest Created (default), Oldest Created, Name (A-Z), or Name (Z-A)
ResetPuts all of these back to the defaults. It appears once you change one.

revis.io remembers your filter, grouping, and sort in that browser. To keep a project at the top, point to its card and select the star (Add to favorites), or choose More options > Star Project. Favorites come first in each group and follow your account to other devices.

Request access to a project

Browse Projects, below your projects, lists your organization's Discoverable projects that you aren't in. If there's no Browse Projects section, there's nothing to request: ask a project admin or an organization admin to add you. If you open a link to one of these projects, a dialog offers the same request; see If you can't open a project.

  1. On the Projects page, scroll down to Browse Projects.
  2. Select Request Access on the project. The button changes to Requested.
  3. Wait for an admin to accept. revis.io emails the project's admins (or the organization's admins, if the project has none), and they accept or decline it in the project's Members settings. See Add people and teams to a project.
  4. Reload the Projects page. Once your request is accepted, the project is with your other projects, and you're a Viewer in it. If it was declined, the project shows Request Access again.
  5. Select the project to open it.

If you can't open a project

When you open a link to a project you can't open, the web app doesn't open it. It takes you to the last project you had open in the same organization, if you can still open it. If there is none, it opens the Projects page. Then one of two things happens:

  • The project is discoverable to you. A dialog asks "Request access to project name?" and says you're not a member of the project yet. Select Request access to send the request, or Not now to close the dialog. revis.io confirms with "Access requested", or with "You've already requested access" if your request is still waiting. After that, wait for an admin to accept, as in Request access to a project.
  • Anything else. A message says "That link isn't available. It may have been removed, or you may not have access." revis.io shows the same message whether the project is private, deleted, or doesn't exist, so it never confirms that a private project is there. Check the link with whoever sent it, or ask a project admin or an organization admin to add you.

In the desktop app

  1. Open Browse Reviews and Flow: select it in the player toolbar (the folder icon with a magnifying glass), or press ⌘1 (Ctrl+1 on Windows and Linux).
  2. Select the organization icon at the top left of Browse Reviews and Flow.
  3. Select a project to open its reviews, or select an organization's name to open its Projects page.
  4. On the Projects page, select a card to open the project's reviews.

The desktop Projects page has the same search, filter, grouping, sort, favorites, and Browse Projects as the web app, but no New Project.
